Анотація
Стаття акцентує увагу на ролі архетипів у творчості, зокрема створення словесних образів американської фольклорної балади. Автор подає класифікації архетипів на основі проштудійованої наукової літератури. На прикладі балад доводиться думка про функціонування психологічних архетипів як першоджерела, з якого розвинулись культурологічні архетипи та вужчі за інформаційним наповненням концепти.
(The article is devoted to the role of the archetype in creative thinking. The critical review on the problem of the archetype showed that the scientists have worked out different principals of classification of archetypes. The most popular one concerns the division of archetypes into basic, or psychological and developed, or cultural. The purpose of the article is to prove the idea that basic archetypes are the starting point of the word images creating. They are always activated in the process of literary thinking. The case study of the American folk ballads proves the idea about the development of the archetype MOTHER in folk works. The elaboration of the archetype reflects different stages of the literary consciousness growth from archaic to normative
and individually creative. The case study of the ballads signifies that the basic archetype MOTHER used in early ballads demonstrates its close connection to the archetype REGENERATION. The amalgamation of the two archetypes splashed into two cultural archetypes LIFE and DEATH. The process indicates the ambiguity of the studied archetype. The progress of the archetype MOTHER explained in the article illustrates the basic value of it and narrowing meaning of the derivative archetypes LIFE /DEATH, MADONNA / WITCH and concepts GIRL / WIFE, CARING MOTHER / CARELESS MOTHER from it. The analysis of all archetypes employed into the American folk ballads can make a good perspective of the further archetype survey. It may reflect the change of world conceptual picture as well as literary consciousness with the flow of time.)
