Abstract

(The author of the article highlights the issue of man and society connection in Volodymyr Vynnychenko's works and proves that the philosopher yearned to comprehend the individuality of men and their harmonious co-existence in society. In Volodymyr Vynnychenko's philosophic reflection, the "man-and-society" concept is exhibited existentially - through man's inner being which confronts the difficult issue of social co-existence. Interpreting the individuality of humankind and its harmonious existence in society, V. Vynnychenko finds the solution to the dilemma on the spectrum of human existence itself - through the "inner man" who creates his/her identity in everyday being. As an emigrant, the philosopher experienced the "man-and-society" issue himself when he managed to find out his own niche of personal existence which was above individualism or collectivism and which enabled him to feel part of global community. V. Vynnychenko's daily being, his self-recognition as a politician and a public man, as well as an emigrant who was not confident enough in the future were quite convincing for the philosopher to prove that happiness is not determined by external circumstances, but rather inherent in the "inner man".In emigration, V.Vynnychenko tried to overcome disconcordism in his own being, realizing that to be man and citizen of both Ukraine, though in isolation, and the whole world is the only way to achieve happiness. Being in society, people always try to realize their unique and unrepeated existence modes, therefore, preserving their identity.)
