Анотація

У статті розглядається концепція та зміст авторського підручника «Лінґвокраїнознавство. Велика Британія», який вийшов друком у 2017 р., а також особливості його застосування для формування англомовної комунікативної компетентності студентів філологічних факультетів. Підручник складається з 8 розділів, їх послідовність, структура і зміст відповідають навчальній програмі даного курсу для університетів. Теоретична частина розділів містить автентичні англійські тексти, які адаптовано з метою професійно орієнтованого навчання англійської мови.. Практичні частини розділів складаються з 7-8 завдань, спрямованих на розвиток творчої мовленнєвої діяльності студентів, формування вміння самостійно аналізувати країнознавчу літературу, використання набутих знань для висловлювання своєї думки. Для визначення студентами рівню засвоєння теми наприкінці кожного практичного блоку наведено тести для самоперевірки теоретичних знань і тести, спрямовані на роботу з тематичною лексикою. Підручник стане в нагоді як студентам профільних спеціальностей, так і тим, для кого англійська не є основної іноземною мовою.
(The article deals with the concept and content of the authoring textbook «Country-oriented linguistics. Great Britain», published in 2017, as well as the peculiarities of its application for the formation of English-speaking communicative competence of the students of language and literature departments. The textbook comprises 8 sections; their sequence, structure and content correspond to the curriculum of this course for universities. The theoretical part of the sections contains authentic English texts, which are adapted for the purpose of professionally oriented English language learning. The practical parts of the sections consist of 7-8 tasks aimed at the development of students’ creative speech activity, the formation of the ability to analyze the country research literature singly, the usage of the acquired knowledge for the expression of personal opinions. To determine the personal level of mastery of the theoretical material at the end of each practical block there are self-checking tests and also the tests composed for the work with thematic vocabulary. The considerable variety of types of tasks not only activates the intellectual processes, but also contributes to the consolidation of worldview information, enrichment of personal vocabulary, as well as the ability to construct cause-and-effect relationships. The given textbook will come in handy to both students of major specialties, and the ones for whom English is not the core foreign language.)
