Genesis, the naturę and stages of relations between the Ukrainian and the Crimean Tatar peoples
in the context of Russian geopolitical intentions have had а сотріех impact on the Cardinal
modern territorial and political transformations on the Crimea peninsula. The propaganda myth
about the collaboration of the Crimean Tatars in the period of occupation by the Nazis of Crimea
aimed to justify the deportation of the Crimean Tatars, which the Soviet government began
on May 18, 1944. "The Finał Russification" of the Crimea in the postwar period created many
problems, primarily economic ones. Then in 1954, in accordance with the decree of the Presidium
of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR, the Crimean region and the city of Sevastopol entered the
former Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. This transfer was accompanied by political demagogy,
because in that year the 300th anniversary of the Pereyaslav Council was widely celebrated in the
USSR. In 1989, Crimean Tatars were able to return to their homeland. In 1992 and 1994, there
were attempts of pro-Russian forces to proclaim "Independence" and, in fact, to annex the Crimea
to Russia. Later, pro-Russian forces acted extensively on the peninsula, mostly in Sevastopol,
where the base of the Russian Black Sea Fleet was located. As a result of the special operation,
Crimea was officially annexed by Russia on March 18, 2014. The loss of the Crimea has led
to a certain mobilization of the Ukrainian society and the search for new models of relations
between the Crimean Tatar and the Ukrainian peoples.
