Abstract

Мета статті полягає у тому, щоб прослідкувати політичну ідентичність найнижчої верстви індійського суспільства, тобто далітів. Ключову частину статті буде складати аналіз їх політичної активності. З одного боку, підкреслено роль сучасних далітів у політичному житті Індії, їх виборчих програм та прагнень щодо поліпшення умов життя спільноти, до якої належать. З іншого боку, простежено державні програми, які адресовані до осіб, що знаходяться поза кастовою системою. Теза, яку ставить автор, звертає увагу на те, що політична ідентичність далітів зміцнюється завдяки їх політичній активності. (The aim of this article is to trace the political identity of the lowest layer of Indian society – Dalits. A key part of the article will be an analysis of their political activity. On the one hand, I will show the role of the Dalits in the political life of India, their election programs and efforts to improve the living conditions. On the other hand, I will investigate state programs targeted at persons who are outside the caste system. My thesis is that the Dalit political identity is strengthened by increased political activity.)
