Abstract

У тезах розглядається роль української діаспори у зародженні однієї із найпотужніших демократичних партій в Україні часів перебудови та початку незалежності – Народного Руху України. Простежено утворення у країнах Північної Америки Комітетів допомоги України, Товариств прихильників Руху та інших об’єднань, які займалися цільовою допомогою для НРУ. Автор звертає увагу також на діяльність таких діаспорних організацій як Український конгресовий комітет Америки, Світовий конгрес українців, Державний центр УНР в екзилі та ін., у лобіюванні українських інтересів перед владою країн поселення. З’ясовано реакцію радянських органів на контакти учасників НРУ із представниками діаспори, які оприлюднювалися з метою дискредитації очільників демократичних сил. (The author regards the role of the Ukrainian diaspora in the formation of the People's Movement of Ukraine (PMU), one of the most powerful democratic parties in Ukraine during Perestroika and since the early independence. Moreover, the article detects the creation of the Aid Committee of Ukraine, Community of the Movement`s Followers and other associations in North American countries, involved in targeted assistance of the PMU. The author draws attention to the activities of diaspora organizations such as the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, the World Congress of the Ukrainians, and the State Centre of the UNR (Ukrainian National Republic) in exile, etс; especially, the author traces these activities in lobbying the Ukrainian interests among the authorities of the settlement. The paper focuses on the reaction of the Soviet authorities to the cooperation of the PMU participants with members of the diaspora. The cooperation was made public in order to discredit the leaders of democratic forces.)
