Анотація

На прикладі долі Антона Олійника (1926-1967), який двадцять років провів у радянських таборах і тюрмах, у статті розглянуто протистояння людини тоталітарній державі, методи і засоби такого протистояння в процесі еволюції радянської пенітенціарної системи. Зроблено висновок, що збереження власної ідентичності потребувало від людини готовності відстоювати свої переконання і особисту свободу ціною життя.
(By the example of Anton Oliynyk’s (1926-1967) destiny: the soldier of Ukrainian insurgent army, who spent twenty years in soviet death camps and prisons, the article contemplates human’s opposition to a totalitarian power, methods and means of such opposition in a process of soviet penitentiary system evolution. The author tried to find answers to the questions: if there was a possibility to keep own identity under the condition of Soviet totalitarian regime, and far less camp and prison regime; how the methods of pressure and opposition to it changed according to the change of political regime in USSR, how the system tried to delete memories about Ukrainian national-liberation movement? The conclusion was made that keeping of own identity requires the person to be ready to stand one’s ground and personal liberty at the expense of life.)
