Abstract

Рассматриваются проблемы и трудности, с которыми
сталкиваются женщины-ученые в профессиональной деятельности,

а также трудности при построения научной
карьеры. Выделяются социально-культурные, социально-биологические

и социально-психологические факторы, препятствующие

карьере женщины в науке. Акцент делается на
таких «барьерах» в научной карьере как модель «тройного
наказания», «стеклянный потолок», гендерные стереотипы,
вертикальная сегрегация. (The paper deals with different points of view at obstacles of
woman professional scientific activity. Main forms of gender discrimination,

which have been existing at scientific community
for long time and are existing until now, are described. There
are three «barriers» in conception of «triple punishment» which
women faces in their scientific carrier. Firstly, strong opinion in
society that science is men’s sphere. Secondly, widespread belief
that woman is less competent as a scientist. Thirdly, real daily
discrimination in system of reward. Social-cultural barriers con-
nected with reproduced system of patriarchate affairs look at
woman primarily as a mother, housewife that forms stereotype of
negative attitude to participation of women in professional scientific
activity and, especially, in participation in administration.
Such social factors hindering women’s carrier in science as
«glass ceiling», gender stereotypes are studied. Gender stereotypes
cause
hidden
discrimination
of
women
in
forms
of
artificial

slowing

of professional promotion, denial in scientific acknow-
ledgement and adequate reward. Problem of triple burden of
women, which is the cause of so-called «role conflict of working
woman» is analyzed. This intrapersonal conflict arises because
of high importance of success in professional activity and family
for woman. The obstacles in the academic career of woman also
include predominance of vertical segregation, which is reflected in
the dominance of men in higher positions. The paper notes the effect
on
woman’s
success
in
science
of
images
of
women
scientists,

prevailing
in
society
on
the
whole
and
in
the
scientific
(academic)

community
in
particular.
