Анотація

У статті розглянуто особливості та способи перекладу англомовних метафор-неологізмів у текстах суспільно-
політичної тематики на українську мову. Основну увагу приділено аналізу особливостей функціонування метафор у
політичних промовах та їх впливу на реципієнтів. Розкрито мовні та екстралінгвістичні фактори що впливають на
вибір способів адекватного перекладу метафор-неологізмів у політичному дискурсі.
(The paper focuses on the conditions and ways of translating new metaphors of the English language in the texts of social
and political themes into Ukrainian. Special attention is given to the usage of new metaphors in political speeches and ways of their influence on recipients. It also discloses conceptual and lingual peculiarities of translating new metaphors that denote social and political realia of modern world. The research shows that metaphor has several functions in political speech, such as cognitive, nominative, communicative, pragmatic, descriptive, instrumental, hypothetic, euphemistic, simulation and
popularization functions. The paper accentuates lingual and extralingual factors that determine the ways of translating new metaphors in socio-political discourse.)
