Abstract

У статті проаналізовано особливості складних взаємовідносин між російською владою та Апостольською Столицею з кінця XVIII і протягом першої половини ХІХ століття. Досліджено спроби Ватикану нав’язати контакти з Росією у церковних питаннях через посередників. Зроблено висновки про те, що незважаючи на офіційно висловлену позицію про прагнення порозуміння, російська влада не була зацікавлена у посиленні позицій Римо-Католицької Церкви в імперії, особливо у збереженні впливу Ватикану (The paper analyzes the features of the relationships between the Russian government and the pontific in late 18th and during the first half of the 19th century. Study attempts to impose the Vatican contacts with Russia in religious matters through intermediaries. It is concluded that despite the official position expressed a desire to understanding the Russian government was not interested in the strengthening of the Roman Catholic Church in the empire, especially in maintaining influence the Vatican)
