Анотація

Стаття присвячена аналізу поняття біологічної статі у
соціальних науках в цілому, і зокрема у ґендерній психології, і фокусується на методологічній проблемі протиставлення біологічного та соціального у формуванні особистості.Узагальнюючи висновки і аналізуючи проблематику, що піднімається у зарубіжних та вітчизняних ґендерних дослідженнях, стверджується необхідність ретельного ґендерного аналізу знання власне про біологічну стать, розглядається поняття норми стосовно статевих ознак людини як соціокультурний феномен, а також підіймається питання депатологізації інтерсексуальності і зняття жорсткої статевої дихотомії.
(Аrticle provides a view towards biological sex perception within social sciences in Ukraine, where gender is understood as social concept, while biological body issues tend to be separated and excluded from social interaction analysis.It focuses on classic methodological problem of opposition between biologic and social components in the structure of personal-
ity, when within social sciences biologic is being considered as an entity without any further reflections.
While overviewing the different topics within gender researches article argues that concept of biological sex itself is almost never being put under close scrutiny.
While within social constructionist paradigm has been argued that knowledge about sex is the matter of social construction, there is almost no researches focusing on this subject. The most basic assumptions about sexual binarity and opposition are being challenged as their inconsistency is being shown.Considering latest evidence from medical and biological research, article substantiates the need of biological sex concept
revision and update, and argues that despite emerging researches results, prevailing understanding and interpretation is quite conservative and ideologised.
Article presents intersexual people as one of the brightest points demonstrating the necessity of depatologization and therefore redefinition of the biological sex concept as it is used both in social sciences and subsequently in normative practices in society.Challenging traditional approach to gender vs biology studies, article argumentates a necessity for interdisciplinary studies to ensure comprehensive understanding of personality in society.)
