Abstract

Стаття присвячена аналізу використання англомовного фільму як автентичного матеріалу на заняттях з англійської мови (рівнів upper-intermediate та advanced) для навчання та закріплення нових лексичних одиниць та граматичних одиниць. Зокрема, у статті представлені зразки вправ та список лексичних одиниць, які були вибрано з останнього випуску серії фільмів про Гаррі Поттера, а саме “Гаррі Поттер 20 років по тому: Повернення в Хогвартс” (“Harry Potter 20 th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts”), який вийшов на екран у 2022 році. Цей фільм було вибрано за основу для розробки завдань не випадково – сьогоднішня молодь, зокрема багато підлітків читають книги та дивляться фільми про пригоди Гаррі Поттера як в оригіналі, так і в перекладі. Тому використання саме цього автентичного фільму для навчання мови є однаково і корисним, і мотиваційним, що сприяє досягненню більш ефективних результатів у навчанні студентів лексичних та граматичних одиниць, а також сприяє розвитку інших мовник навичок під час занять з англійської мови. Зрештою, використання автентичного фільму, як і більшість технологій, є не лише корисною методикою, а й доступною кожному викладачеві.
(The article is devoted to analyzing the use of an English-language film as authentic material in English language classes (upper-intermediate and advanced levels) for teaching and consolidating new lexical units and grammatical units. In particular, the article presents sample exercises and a list of vocabulary items selected from the latest Harry Potter film series release, namely “Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts”, which appeared on the screen in 2022. This film was chosen as a basis for the development of tasks not by chance: today’s youth, in particular many teenagers, read books and watch films about the adventures of Harry Potter both in the original and translation. Therefore, the use of this authentic film for language learning is equally helpful and motivating, which contributes to achieving more effective results in teaching lexical units and grammatical units to students, and it also contributes to the development of other communication skills during English classes. Ultimately, using authentic films, like most technologies, is practical and accessible to every teacher.)
