Анотація
У статті досліджується проблема національної ідентичності та самобутності українського народу, а також роль національної інтелігенції як виразника й захисника суспільних інтересів. Аналізуються особливості процесу становлення еліти в Україні, взаємодія української національної еліти з простим народом, а також її вплив на формування національної ідеї українського народу. Національно свідома еліта розглядається як головний рушій національно визвольних змагань. Для розуміння суті національної ідентичності, ролі та значення
цього феномена в житті національно орієнтованої інтелігенції та всієї нації розглядаються твори Тараса Шевченка та Івана Франка. Вони становлять наукову зацікавленість як в літературно-історичному, так і в загально-філософському аспектах.
(This article highlights the problem of national identity and the identity of the Ukrainian people and the role of national intelligence as the spokespersons and defenders of the public interest. The author analyzes the features of the process of elite establishment in Ukraine. The author identifies Ukrainian national elite interaction with the common people (mass) and its influence on the formation of the Ukrainian national idea. Nationally conscious elite is seen as the main power of the national liberation struggle. The works of Taras Shevchenko and Ivan Franko are considered to understand the essence of national identity, the role and importance of this phenomenon in the life of nationally oriented intelligentsia and the nation. They constitute a scientific interest in literary, historical, and in general philosophical aspects.
In the first half of the 19th century in Russia, including Ukraine, the villeinage system went through the demise,
which, in its turn, led to rebellion of the oppressed masses. The villeinage crisis symptom was the Decembrist uprising as well as development of popular struggle, intensification of village movements.
Shevchenko’s worldview was developed and formed on the basis of the historical experience of Ukrainian people’s
struggle against the villeinage system and tzarism national policy in Ukraine. All poet’s works had their arrowheads
pointed at the ruling power and its policy, at everything that hindered Ukrainian people in their desperate wrestle for happy future.
One of the major ideas of I. Franko’s philosophy is a thought that the superior value here below is not just a human being, but a ‘true living man’ as such human being is a spirit medium. Thus, a person’s world of spirit is its premium acquisition. I. Franko’s philosophy is involved with the feelings and understanding of human spirit genteelness.)
