Анотація
У статті розглянуто історію становлення національної і міжнародної стандартизації. Екстралінгвістичний
кут зору на проблему обрано для порівняння розуміння суті та призначення стандартизації для лінгвістики і еконо-
міки. Проаналізовано рецепцію стандартизації в сучасних мультидисциплінарних термінологічних теоріях, зокрема
в соціотермінознавстві. Доведено, що відмінності у трактуванні стандартизації з боку сучасних мультидисциплі
нарних теорій порівняно з загальною термінологічною теорією пов’язані передовсім зі зміною погляду на саму природу термінологічних одиниць.
(The origin of standardization of terminology is associated with the multilingual terminological dictionary of E. Wuster. It led to the emergence of General Terminology Theory and turned standardization into a trend. Later in different countries appeared
a set of standardization institutions: in the US – American Standards Association, in Germany – German Normalization Committee, in France – Association Française de Normalisation. In the twentieth century it became clear that language barriers result in economic losses and failures, inhibit international commercial and research projects. It resulted in idea of creating supranational terminology centers that would collect accurate national counterparts to the names of concepts and objects of different sectors (International Standards Organization – ISO, Nordterm – for the Nordic countries, ArabtermNet – for Arab countries, RiTerm, Rint – for French-speaking countries). Nowadays in Ukraine standardization of terminology is provided by the state. Standards are created by a special executive body – State Standard of Ukraine. ISO defines a standard
as a document that provides requirements, specifications, guidelines or characteristics that can be used consistently to ensure that materials, products, processes and services are fit for their purpose. According to the Finnish researcher T. Pikala language
is difficult to standardize because reality is much richer than its linguistic representation. Example of Socioterminolog shows that the differences in the interpretation of standardization by the modern multidisciplinary theories compared with General Terminology Theory is caused primarily by the changes in the views terminological units’ nature.
