Анотація
У статті розглянуто англомовні публіцистичні тексти кінематографічної тематики (ТКТ) як елемент лінгво-культурологічного підходу до навчання іноземних мов. Виявлено лексичні одиниці на позначення попереджень щодо
художнього фільму, що описують основні цінності американського суспільства кінця 20 – початку 21 століття.
Встановлено «важливі теми» («big issues»), яким приділяється особлива увага в американському кінематографі
кінця 20 – початку 21 століття.
(The article considers English publicistic cinematography texts (CT) as a part of culture oriented approach to teaching foreign languages, namely linguistic and cultural. Linguistic and cultural approach presupposes a fairly deep knowledge of a foreign language to study manifestations of culture in that language. This approach to teaching language makes it possible to interpret the language as a component of culture, a means of its reflection, formation and storage. Meaning of words of different languages reflects and transmits lifestyle and way of thinking of a particular society. They are valuable clues to understanding the culture. Taking into account Anna Wierzbicka’s theory and exactly that «keywords» can discover a set
of cultural values and attitudes, we made an attempt to identify «key words» in CT and establish a set of concepts behind these linguistic means of their implementation, which are basic for American films of the late 20th – early 21st century. CT semantics represents knowledge of feature films, which were Oscar nominees for the best picture in 1998 – 2002. A feature film is considered to be a carrier of particular people’s mentality and its national character. It clearly expresses the outlook of people, their moral, social, aesthetic and other ideals. Knowledge of the films is detected by means of language. On thebasis of linguistic data we reproduce fragments of reality, reflected in feature films. Studying CT comments on the feature film
category we established a set of «important issues» («big issues»), which film censorship pays special attention to. Revealed lexical units denoting film warnings indicate the problems urgent for American society at the end of the 20th – beginning of the 21st centuries: free sex, culture, language, violence, drugs.)
