Анотація

У статті розглянуто бінарну опозицію МОЛОДИЙ – СТАРИЙ в українській мові. Аналіз здійснено на основі
даних, вилучених із асоціативного словника, який фіксує результати психолінгвістичного експерименту, проведеного
із носіями української мови. Метою дослідження є експлікація стереотипних уявлень та фреймів, пов’язаних із членами цього протиставлення у свідомості мовців, за матеріалами асоціативного експерименту. Реакції, подані на
запропоновані стимули молодий – старий, молода – стара і молодість – старість, ми проаналізували крізь призму
значень, вказаних для лексем молодий і старий у лексикографічних джерелах.
(The article describes the binary opposition YOUNG – OLD in the Ukrainian language. The analysis was based on the
data, excluded from the associative dictionary that records the results of the psycholinguistic experiment conducted with the native Ukrainian language speakers. The aim of the research is the explication of the frames and stereotypes associated with members of this opposition in the minds of the speakers on the material of the associative experiment. Reactions submitted on the proposed incentives young – old and youth – eld we analyzed in the light of the meanings given for the lexemes young and old in the lexicographical sources. The results of the research showed that most of the reactions mentioned by the respondents of the male and female sex explicate the number of meanings that were fixed in the dictionaries of the Ukrainian language, which embody the corresponding frames in the minds of the speakers related to the knowledge about the age, internal and external features of human, about wedding, about the period of the being of the plants, animals and inanimate objects and so on. Some of them reveal the opposed typical features that characterize young / old, such as, power / infirmity, health / illness, experience / inexperience, joy / sadness. Some reactions point to the opposite member of the opposition, indicating the importance of this opposition for Ukrainian language and culture. In addition, we revealed an association between the opposition YOUNG – OLD and the archaic binary opposition LIFE – DEATH in the minds of the native Ukrainian language speakers.)
