Анотація
У статті досліджується комунікативна природа невласне прямого мовлення (далі НПМ) та розкриваються особливості його застосування у текстах творів відомого американського письменника Ч. Поланіка, а також з’ясовуються рівні перебігу внутрішньотекстової комунікації і роль НПМ у ній.
комунікативній структурі тексту одним із способів передачі персонажного дискурсу являється НПМ, яке в художніх творах постмодернізму відіграє специфічні функції – допомагає досягти ефекту достовірності, реалістичності оповіді, залучає читача до комунікативного процесу. У текстах Ч. Поланіка, яскравого представника течії американського літературного постмодернізму, фіксуємо використання невласне-прямих мовленнєвих конструкцій, за допомогою яких відбувається проникнення голосу наратора в дискурс персонажів на рівні внутрішньотекстової комунікації, що в свою чергу робить текст багатоплановим та поліфонічним.
(The modern stage of linguistic researches is primarily characterized by an anthropocentric orientation. Language is
studied as a means of communication, without which the existence of a human, its cognition of self and the surrounding world is impossible. If we examine free-indirect speech as a method of reproduction of personal speech-thought, it is possible to notice an interpenetration and cooperation of discourse zones of personage and author-narrator, when the transformed ideas and speech of characters are included in the author’s speech, which takes place in various quantity and quality ranges. Freeindirect
speech, consisting due to its essence of combination of both subjective plans of author and character, with its maintenance of general structure of story on behalf of author or narrator, that replaces him, can become a compositional means that helps to expose the spiritual world of a hero: it shows the development, change of protagonist’s worldview, his spiritual growth or decline, forming or breaking of his outlook. In fictional works of postmodernism, the communicative function of
text acquires some special traits. The traditional forms of narration forming the author’s point of view cannot satisfy the requirements, which the postmodern authors raise. In the communicative structure of text one of the methods of transmission of character discourse is free-indirect discourse, which in the postmodern works plays specific role – helps to attain the effect of authenticity, reality of narration, involves a reader into the communicative process. As is evident from the given examples, Chuck Palahniuk, renowned representative of post-modernism in literature, often uses free-indirect speech constructions, by
means of which the penetration of narrator’s voice into the discourse of characters at the level of intratextual communication takes place, which, in its turn, makes the text multidimensional and polyphonic.)
