Анотація

Стаття присвячена особливостям перекладу кіно та проблемам, з якими зіштовхуються перекладачі в процесі своєї діяльності. В роботі аналізуються особливості мови кіно та інші його характеристики, що мають безпосередній вплив на роботу перекладача. Детально розглядаються основні підходи до перекладу кіносценаріїв – субтитрування та дубляж, риси, характерні для них, технічні обмеження, що супроводжують кожен з цих підходів, та основні стратегії перекладу, які застосовуються при роботі із субтитрами та дубляжем.
(This article is a research investigating peculiarities and problematic issues of movie scripts translation. It investigates major factors that determine peculiar features of film translation, as well as specific conditions under which translator’s job is conducted; gives brief description of the features of film language and explains how they influence the process of translation.
The article analyses two main approaches to movie-script translating – subtitling and dubbing. Author’s attention is paid to the most problematic issues of these two approaches, to their characteristic features, technical constraints that may occur in the process of translation (different types of limitations), and to the main techniques used by translators while dealing with subtitles and dubbing (different methods of simplification, synchronization and adjustment).)
