Анотація

У статті виокремлено трикомпонентну структуру універсального концепту WAR/ВІЙНА, схарактеризовано засоби омовлення поняттєвого елемента в англійській та українській лінгвокультурах; проаналізовано проблеми
відтворення компонентів однієї лінгвокультурної системи іншою. Поняттєву складову концепту WAR/ВІЙНА визначено з орієнтацією на словникові дефініції, а також через синонімічні відношення лексем-вербалізаторів, які разом із фразеологізмами входять до змістового ядра концепту.
(The article suggests a comparison of the categories «concept» and «notion». The relevance of such differentiation is explained by the ambiguousness of interpretations of the term «concept» in the frames of different scientific paradigms.
Comparative analysis between the terms is carried out on the basis of the linguistic and cultural approach. The most essential features that differentiate two categories are determined. Within this framework, three components’ (notional, figurative and value) structure of the universal concept WAR/VIYNA is distinguished. The article highlights the verbalization peculiarities of the notional aspect in the English and Ukrainian linguistic cultures. As the result, this side of the concept WAR/VIYNA is defined according to lexicographic definitions with the help of synonymic relations of the lexemes-verbalizators and idioms
which compose denotative core of the concept. The author focuses on the problems of rendering the notional element of the concept so that to decrease difficulties that a translator may come across while reproducing figurative and value components.)
