Abstract
The article argues interpretation of the term non-finito as a type of artistic creative work of Modernism. Interpretation of this phenomenon is studied in Lesya Ukrainka’s works. Analyzing G. Hauptman’s drama in the article "Michael Kramer" the authoress showed exceptional interest in the phenomenon of the unfinished, which found logical extension in L.Ukrainka’s own texts. There is a depiction of several non-finito versions in the dramatic poem "In the forest" which have no realization for external factors and resistance of the material. It is maintained that the phenomenon of non-finito was close not only to the theme of text, but to the specifics of the writer’s creative works.
