Анотація

У цій статті запропонований аналіз ролі жінки в млинарському господарстві Львова у другій половині XVII ст, здійснений
на
основі
понад
150
договорів
оренди
цього
періоду,
які
були
укладені
між міською
адміністрацією та
орендарями.(In this article we offer an analysis of the role of women in mill
economy of Lviv in the second half of the XVII c. It is based on
more than 150 lease agreements of that period, which were concluded
between
the
city
administration
and
renters.
Those
agreements
are very important source, which helps researcher to see
real and practical functioning of Laws and privileges, to understand
fears
of
different
kinds
of
danger,
and
to
follow
continuity
of
water
mills
operation
in
the
time
of
very
high
level
of
danger
of
military
and natural destruction.
The
role of women in mill economy of Lviv in early modern
period depended on social status – was she nobility or peasant
woman, and on marital status – was she single, married or widow.
It is important to examine the role of women in the economy of
early modern Lviv as far as it is great possibility to research everyday
life
of
single
family
and
women
in
connection
to
economic
and
politic
situation
in
Polish
state
of
17
century.
Despite
widespread
notion
that
women
did
not
take
active
part
in
economic
life
of
that
period,
archival
sources
shows
us
another
situation
–
when
men

were
not
able
to
work
(because
of
illness,
departure,
were
serving
in
military)
or
died,
women
usually
headed
not
only
domestic
economy,
but also mill economy.)
