Анотація

У статті подаються висновки дослідження з приводу визначення функцій англомовних скорочень в процесі спілкування в соціальних мережах, а також по визначенню їх семантики з можливістю подальшої систематизації. У нашому дослідженні ми розглядаємо лінгвістичні основи виникнення скорочень, історичні та культурні передумови їх виникнення саме в процесі віртуального спілкування, а також досліджуємо різні типи побудови, відзначаючи наявні закономірності. Однією з цілей, які ми мали на меті досягти у нашому дослідженні, була ідентифікація основних графічних і лексичних типів скорочень з обґрунтуванням їх морфологічної структури. Також ми ставили на меті конкретизувати семантику використовуваних скорочень у соц. мережах, намагаючись прослідкувати залежність (або її відсутність) структури і семантики скорочень та їх функцій в процесі Інтернеткомунікації.
(In this article we present the conclusions of a study on the identification of the functions of English abbreviations in the process of communication in social networks, as well as on the defining of their semantics with the possibility of further systematization. In our research we provide the linguistic basis of the abbreviations’ appearance, the historical and cultural preconditions of their appearance in the process of communication in virtual (or cyber) reality. We also attempted to state various types of morphological structure, trying to note the existing patterns. A special emphasis in our research is placed on characterizing the Internet as a special space for interacting. Studying various definitions of the Web, researching its peculiarities, we tried to state the linguistic limits implied by the cyber-reality on the users of social networks. One of the goals we tried to achieve in our research was the identification of the main graphic and lexical types of abbreviations along with the justification of their morphological structure. We also set the goal to specify the semantics of the abbreviations used in social networks, trying to trace the dependence (or lack thereof) between the structure and semantics of abbreviations and their functions in the process of Internet communication.)
