Abstract

Статтю присвячено дослідженню опису як одного з функціональних типів мовлення у французьких мінімалістичних художніх текстах. Увага приділяється предметному опису на основі суміщення і поєднання різних способів чуттєвого сприйняття фрагмента світу.
(The article examines the role of description as a functional type of speech in the French minimalist prose of the late XX – early XXI centuries. The attention is paid to the subject description based on the alignment and combination of different ways of sensory perception of the fragments of the world. The research is conducted on the material of the French minimalist novels of Сhristian Gailly and Jean-Philippe Toussaint. The choice of the researched material – the novels of French minimalist writers of the late XX – early XXI centuries – is based on the fact that their work is inaccessible to the general reader in Ukraine due to the almost complete lack of translated texts. Since the description reproduces the sensory experience of the fragments of the world, it can be presented on the basis of different sensory canals: sight, smell, hearing, taste, as well as on the basis of their alignment and combination. Visual, auditory, tactile, taste, olfactory images appealing to the reader’s sensory experience serve the purposes of reproducing in her/his mind the emotional component of the situation described. This contributes to a deeper understanding of author’s plans and ideas. Each of these techniques, either in combination or alone, is used in French minimalist fictional texts in the process of generating various types of descriptions.)
