Анотація

Використовуючи метод філософської герменевтики текстів і зокрема – етимологічну герменевтику як його підвид, та опираючись на працю Макса Шелера «Ресентимент у побудові моралей», автор статті показує, що мотивом складення розповіді про Каїна та його нащадків (Бут 4, 1-26) був ресентимент кочівників до народів осілої землеробської цивілізації: ім’я «Каїн» означає «коваль», а його рід занять – обробіток землі.
Новизна статті полягає у баченні сюжету під іншим кутом зору: досі ресентимент звичайно приписували
Каїнові й пояснювали ним його мотив убивства Авеля. Стаття може бути корисною біблістам, дослідникам
історії й культури давнього Ізраїля та усім, хто бажає докладніше розуміти Писання Старого Завіту.
(Applying the method of philosophical hermeneutics of texts, and especially – the etymological hermeneutics as
its subspecies, and relying on the work of Max Scheler «Ressentiment in the structure of morals», the author of the article shows, that the composition motive of narration on Cain and his descendants (Gen 4, 1-26) was a ressentiment of nomads towards the peoples of the settled agricultural civilization: the name «Cain» means «blacksmith», and his occupation was cultivation of the land. The absence of their own land and nomadic way of life of the ancient Israel with its main means of living: breeding of the livestock, combined with the absence of iron and its processing, formed the ground for ressentiment of Israel towards the settled agricultural peoples. The novelty of the article consists in the seeing the topics from another point of view: till now the ressentiment was usually ascribed to Cain and one explained by it Cain’s motive of murder of Abel. The article could be useful to the biblical scholars, researchers on the history and culture of the ancient Israel and to all who want to understand the Old Testament Writings more precisely.)
