Анотація

Емоційний репертуар як конструкт вираження соціальної ідеології (дослідження історико-культурної маніфестації емоцій у художній літературі Вікторіанської доби). Пініч. Стаття висвітлює взаємозв’язок між дискурсотворчими соціокультурними та психологічними стандартами емоційної поведінки у XIX ст. та патернамемоційного реагування героїв Вікторіанського роману. Виявлено закономірності втручання інституційного важеля
у вибудову ментально-комунікативного простору Вікторіанської доби.
(The paper elucidates the interconnection between the sociocultural and psychological standards of emotional behavior in the XIXth century as discourse processing practices, and patterns of emotional reaction of the heroes of Victorian novels.
In the limelight of investigation is the rise of the well-famed British stoicism to emotion manifestation. The aforementioned stoicism, though, has not always been characteristic of the British national character pigeonholed across the continents nowadays.
The advent of Queen Victoria stripped the society off Georgian sensuality proclaiming piety and prudery core values of the nation. The establishment of the sociocultural standards and their idealization were strongly underpinned by novels. Largescale mesmeric practices of inducement to the belief of self-eclipse were every bit designed to organize the cognitive space of Victorians into a slender system of self-sacrifice for the sake of maintaining the state. These discourse processing engines supplied
the mainstream citizen with the already made patterns of emotional behavior crowning restrain and insatiable greed. The double standards of Victorian era led to a number of absurdities denying explicit tenderness between parents and children, but celebrating faux agreeability between strangers, rivals and enemies. Another virtue celebrated by the society is eloquence which signals refinement, nobility and undeniable knowledge. These very often neighbor «the extinction of excitement».
The paper argues the prescriptive nature of emotion repertoire of the Victorian age that roots in the institutional interference in the establishment of the emotional space of pseudo-sentimentalism. The nature of the emotional space is far from unequivocal – as
once being suggested it becomes a self-sustainable system capable of further development and influencing the space-time manifold.)
