Анотація

Стаття присвячена дослідженню функціонування заголовка у британському постмодерністському художньому тексті початку XXI століття. Зазначено особливості лексичного наповнення заголовків, досліджено автосеман тичні і синсемантичні заголовки, встановлено специфіку реалізації функцій заголовків та підзаголовків.
(The article is devoted to the analysis of semiotic nature of a postmodernist literary text and the functions of its titles. The texts of British literature of the beginning of the XXI century served the material for analysis. The text is a complex system of interrelated and interdependent elements forming a complex unity. In this sense, relations between a title and a text are important to create a single text space. Titles are integral parts and essential properties of texts. The function of titles is to guide
the interpretation of a text, to indicate how the literary work should be perceived. The title is the means that allows a literary work to be appreciated because its aesthetic properties are perceived through it.
The peculiarities of lexical content of titles have been highlighted. Autosemantic and synsemantic titles are examined.
The most common models of titles in British postmodernist literary texts are indicated. The functions of titles and subtitles of British postmodernist literary text (сommunicative, cognitive, expressive, aesthetic, appellative, argumentative, referential, deictic) are analyzed.)
