Анотація

У статті розглядаються особливості авторського трактування соціальної свободи у ліриці Івана Багряного та Джорджа Орвелла. Порівнюється висвітлення письменниками проблеми соціальної незахищеності населення, розглядається залежність людини від матеріальних факторів. Особлива увага приділяється взаємозв’язку понять соціальна свобода та вільна людина, а також умовам його реалізації. Визначаються спільні та відмінні риси інтерпретації Іваном Багряним та Джорджем Орвеллом соціальної свободи та факторів її обмеження.
(The article dwells on the transformation of the notions of freedom in the social poetry of Ivan Bahrjanyj and George Orwell.
Both authors pay their attention to the problem of social dependence of a common person from the surrounding materialistic world. With the vivid examples, through images and masterful allusions both writers illustrate the negative effect which money and soul corruption have on lives of people, they show how people’s minds and virtues give way to the materialistic pleasures and comforts, and serve as a substitute for human freedom.
Ivan Bahrjanyj and George Orwell claim that the lack of social liberty is caused by the restricting state policy as well as changes in the minds and hearts of modern people. The role of social freedom as a mechanism of the spiritual liberation of a personality and as the dimension of the person’s freedom is determined. Typological similarities and differences of the peculiarities of the literary interpretation of the authors’ social poetry are defined. It is proved that both writers touch upon similar
problems and tend to resolve them as if having an indirect dialogue, which serve as an evidence of their typological similarity on the levels themes and ideas. The main difference in the ways of authors interpretation of social freedom is a permanent presence of a national factor in verses of Ivan Bahrjanyj.)
